في واقعة جديدة تضاف إلى سلسلة الحوادث المسلحة في الولايات المتحدة، شهدت ولاية أيداهو حادث إطلاق نار داخل مقر أمني، ما استدعى استجابة عاجلة من السلطات، وانتهى بإصابات محدودة ومقتل المشتبه به.
وكشف مسؤولون أمريكيون تفاصيل الحادث، موضحين أن المشتبه به دخل بهو مكتب شرطة مقاطعة شوشون في مدينة والاس وفتح النار، ما أدى إلى وقوع الإصابات، قبل أن تتطور الأحداث إلى مواجهة مسلحة داخل المبنى.
وقال قائد شرطة مقاطعة شوشون، ويليام إيدي، إن السلطات تلقت بلاغاً عن إطلاق النار عند نحو الساعة 2:40 مساءً بالتوقيت المحلي، وتم التعامل مع الموقف على الفور.
وأضاف إيدي أن إطلاق نار إضافياً وقع لاحقاً، قبل الإعلان عن وفاة المشتبه به عند الساعة 4:15 مساءً بالتوقيت المحلي، مشيراً إلى أن إصابات المدنيين ونائب الشرطة وُصفت بالطفيفة.
وفي وقت لاحق، أكدت السلطات الأمريكية إحكام السيطرة الكاملة على الوضع، عقب تلقّي بلاغ بوجود مسلح داخل مقر الشرطة، مشددة على عدم وجود تهديد إضافي، بحسب ما أفادت به وسائل إعلام أمريكية.

American officials revealed details of the incident, explaining that the suspect entered the lobby of the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office in Wallace and opened fire, resulting in injuries, before the situation escalated into an armed confrontation inside the building.
Shoshone County Sheriff William Eddy stated that authorities received a report of the shooting at around 2:40 PM local time, and the situation was addressed immediately.
Eddy added that additional gunfire occurred later, before the suspect was pronounced dead at 4:15 PM local time, noting that the injuries to civilians and the deputy were described as minor.
Later, U.S. authorities confirmed that they had full control of the situation after receiving a report of an armed individual inside the police headquarters, emphasizing that there was no additional threat, according to reports from American media.
