أقرت كتائب القسام الجناح العسكري لحركة حماس اليوم (الإثنين)، بشكل رسمي، بمقتل المتحدث باسمها حذيفة الكحلوت المعروف بـ«أبو عبيدة»، وقائد أركانها محمد السنوار، إضافة إلى محمد شبانة، ورائد سعد، وأبو عمر السوري. وأكد خليفة أبو عبيدة في تسجيل مصور أن محمد السنوار قتل برفقة محمد شبانة، موضحاً أن السنوار قاد القسام في مرحلة بالغة الصعوبة خلفاً لمحمد الضيف. وقال المتحدث الجديد: «ورثنا عن القائد حذيفة الكحلوت لقبه (أبو عبيدة)، وعهداً أن نواصل المسير». ونعى المتحدث الجديد قائد لواء رفح محمد شبانة، والقائد في الكتائب حكم العيسى، وقائد ركن التصنيع رائد سعد قائد، داعياً كل المعنيين إلى لجم الاحتلال وإلزامه بما تم الاتفاق عليه. وكان جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي قد أعلن في مايو الماضي اغتيال السنوار الشقيق الأصغر للقيادي الراحل يحيى السنوار، وفي أواخر أغسطس قال إنه اغتال «أبو عبيدة» أيضاً.
