ألغى الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب الموجة الثانية من الضربات التي كان يعتزم شنها على فنزويلا، مشيداً بقرار السلطات في كاراكاس الإفراج عن «سجناء سياسيين».
خطوة ذكية للغاية
وقال ترمب في منشور على «تروث سوشيال»، اليوم (الجمعة) إن فنزويلا أفرجت عن أعداد كبيرة من السجناء السياسيين كإشارة للسعي إلى السلام، واصفاً الخطوة بأنها بالغة الأهمية وذكية للغاية.
وأضاف أن الولايات المتحدة وفنزويلا تعملان بشكل جيد معاً، خصوصاً فيما يتعلق بإعادة بناء البنية التحتية لقطاعي النفط والغاز، بصورة أكبر وأفضل وأكثر حداثة.
واعتبر أن هذا التعاون، ألغى الموجة الثانية من الهجمات التي كان من المتوقع تنفيذها، لافتاً إلى أنها «لا تبدو ضرورية» الآن، ولكنه أكد «بقاء جميع السفن في مواقعها لأغراض السلامة والأمن».
ولفت ترمب إلى خطة لـ«استثمار ما لا يقل عن 100 مليار دولار من قبل شركات النفط الكبرى»، معلناً أنه سيجتمع مع مسؤولي هذه الشركات، الجمعة، في البيت الأبيض، لافتا إلى أن هذه الشركات ستلعب دوراً رئيسياً في إعادة بناء قطاع النفط الفنزويلي.
وكشف مصدر مطلع، أن ممثلين عن أكبر 3 شركات نفط أمريكية، وهي «إكسون موبيل» و«كونوكو فيليبس» و«شيفرون»، سيحضرون الاجتماع.
إطلاق سراح سجناء
وكانت جماعة «فورو بينال» الحقوقية المحلية، أعلنت أنه جرى إطلاق سراح شخصيتين بارزتين من المعارضة السياسية ضمن معتقلين جرى الإفراج عنهم، الخميس.
وكان السياسي إنريكي ماركيز (62 عاماً) من بين من اعتبروا مرشح المعارضة إدموندو جونزاليس، هو الفائز بالانتخابات الرئاسية التي جرت عام 2024. وأطلق سراحه إلى جانب بياجيو بيلييري، وهو زعيم حزب معارض ونائب برلماني منتقد للحكومة.
إعادة بناء فنزويلا
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي، اعتبر في مقابلة مع قناة «فوكس نيوز»، مساء (الخميس)، أن فنزويلا التي تقودها حالياً الرئيسة المؤقتة بالإنابة ديلسي رودريجيز، ستحتاج إلى وقت قبل أن تتمكن من الوصول إلى مرحلة تسمح بإجراء انتخابات. وأضاف: «علينا إعادة بناء البلاد، لم يكن بإمكانهم إجراء انتخابات، إنهم لا يعرفون حتى كيف يمكن إجراء انتخابات في الوقت الحالي». وتحدث عن زعيمة المعارضة الفنزويلية ماريا كورينا ماتشادو، التي ستزور واشنطن الأسبوع القادم.
وسُئل ترمب عما إذا كان يخطط للقاء ماتشادو عقب الضربات الأمريكية على فنزويلا، والتي أسفرت عن القبض على الرئيس الفنزويلي نيكولاس مادورو. ورد: «حسناً، أفهم أنها ستأتي في وقت ما من الأسبوع القادم، وأتطلع إلى إلقاء التحية عليها».
وسيكون هذا أول لقاء لترمب مع ماتشادو، التي قالت هذا الأسبوع إنها لم تتحدث إلى الرئيس الأمريكي منذ فوزها بجائزة نوبل للسلام في أكتوبر.

Very smart move
Trump said in a post on "Truth Social" today (Friday) that Venezuela released a large number of political prisoners as a sign of seeking peace, describing the move as highly significant and very smart.
He added that the United States and Venezuela are working well together, especially regarding the reconstruction of the oil and gas sectors, in a larger, better, and more modern way.
He considered that this cooperation canceled the second wave of attacks that were expected to be carried out, noting that they "do not seem necessary" now, but he confirmed "the presence of all ships in their positions for safety and security purposes."
Trump pointed to a plan to "invest at least $100 billion by major oil companies," announcing that he would meet with officials from these companies on Friday at the White House, noting that these companies will play a key role in rebuilding the Venezuelan oil sector.
A knowledgeable source revealed that representatives from the three largest American oil companies, namely "ExxonMobil," "ConocoPhillips," and "Chevron," will attend the meeting.
Release of prisoners
The local human rights group "Foro Penal" announced that two prominent political opposition figures were released among detainees on Thursday.
Politician Enrique Márquez (62 years old) was among those who considered opposition candidate Edmundo González to be the winner of the presidential elections held in 2024. He was released alongside Biagio Pilleri, a leader of an opposition party and a parliamentary deputy critical of the government.
Rebuilding Venezuela
The U.S. president stated in an interview with "Fox News" on Thursday evening that Venezuela, currently led by interim president Delsy Rodríguez, will need time before it can reach a stage that allows for elections. He added, "We need to rebuild the country; they couldn't hold elections; they don't even know how to conduct elections at this time." He spoke about the Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, who will visit Washington next week.
Trump was asked if he plans to meet Machado following the U.S. strikes on Venezuela, which resulted in the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. He responded, "Well, I understand she will come at some point next week, and I look forward to greeting her."
This will be Trump's first meeting with Machado, who said this week that she has not spoken to the U.S. president since winning the Nobel Peace Prize in October.
