هاجم الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، نوري المالكي المرشح من قبل الإطار التنسيقي لرئاسة الوزراء العراقية، موضحاً أنه سمع معلومات «تفيد بإمكانية أن يتخذ العراق خياراً سيئاً للغاية عبر عودة نوري المالكي لرئاسة الوزراء». وقال ترمب عبر حسابه على منصة «تروث سوشال»: «السياسات والأيديولوجيات التي انتهجها المالكي في السابق أدت إلى تدهور الأوضاع في العراق»، مضيفاً: «لا ينبغي السماح بحدوث ذلك مرة أخرى». ولوح ترمب بوقف المساعدات الأمريكية إذا تم انتخابه، قائلاً: «في حال انتخاب المالكي مجدداً، فإن الولايات المتحدة لن تساعد العراق بعد الآن»، مضيفاً: «إذا لم نكن هناك للمساعدة، فإن العراق لن تكون لديه أي فرصة للنجاح أو الازدهار أو الحرية». واختتم ترمب بالقول: «اجعلوا العراق عظيماً مرة أخرى». أمريكا تلاحق الفساد في العراق وكان المبعوث الأمريكي إلى العراق مارك سافايا، قد قال في وقت سابق اليوم إن فريقه «يعمل ميدانياً في العراق لدعم تشكيل حكومة جديدة، والتحضير لمواجهة أزمة الفساد في البلاد الذي يُعد أمراً بالغ الأهمية، بل وأكثر إلحاحاً». وأضاف سافايا: «هذا الجهد لا يقتصر على تتبع الأموال المنهوبة التي جرى تهريبها إلى خارج العراق، بل يشمل أيضاً تحديد وجهة هذه الأموال وكيفية استخدامها في نهاية المطاف». وأشار إلى أنه من خلال التنسيق مع مؤسسات أخرى، بات لدى الجهات الأمريكية فهم شامل للأفراد المتورطين، بمن فيهم مسؤولون حكوميون كبار وأفراد من عائلاتهم استفادوا من أموال فاسدة عراقية، لافتاً إلى أن «هذه الأموال استُخدمت لشراء عقارات متعددة في عدة دول، وكذلك للحصول على جنسيات وجوازات سفر أجنبية، أحياناً بالأسماء نفسها وأحياناً بهويات مختلفة، بهدف التهرب من التتبع والمساءلة مستقبلاً». وأشار إلى أن «غالبية هذه القضايا تتركز داخل المنطقة، فيما يمتد بعضها إلى خارجها عبر برامج الحصول على الجنسية مقابل الاستثمار التي تقدمها بعض الدول». واشنطن تهدد بوقف الشراكة مع بغداد وأضاف: «الفساد لا يضر بالشعب العراقي ويقوض الأمن الوطني فحسب، بل يمكّن الجماعات الإرهابية ويسهم في تغذية أنشطتها عبر دول عدة»، مبيناً أن بلاده «ستعمل بشكل وثيق مع وزارة الخزانة الأمريكية ومكتب مراقبة الأصول الأجنبية لضمان فرض المساءلة على جميع الأطراف المتورطة دون استثناء ولا أحد فوق القانون، والعدالة ستتحقق للشعب العراقي». وكانت وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية، قد قالت في بيان، إن الوزير روبيو أبلغ خلال اتصال هاتفي مع محمد شياع السوداني أن «أي حكومة في العراق ذات علاقة خارجية لا يمكن أن تنجح في وضع مصالح العراق في المقام الأول، أو أن تبقي العراق بعيداً عن الصراعات الإقليمية، أو أن تعزز الشراكة ذات المنفعة المتبادلة بين الولايات المتحدة والعراق». U.S. President Donald Trump attacked Nouri al-Maliki, the candidate nominated by the Coordination Framework for the Iraqi premiership, today (Tuesday), stating that he heard information "indicating that Iraq could make a very bad choice by bringing Nouri al-Maliki back to the premiership." Trump said via his account on the "Truth Social" platform: "The policies and ideologies that Maliki adopted in the past led to the deterioration of conditions in Iraq," adding: "This should not be allowed to happen again." Trump hinted at halting U.S. aid if he is elected, saying: "If Maliki is elected again, the United States will no longer help Iraq," adding: "If we are not there to help, Iraq will have no chance of success, prosperity, or freedom." Trump concluded by saying: "Make Iraq great again." America Pursues Corruption in Iraq U.S. envoy to Iraq Mark Savaia stated earlier today that his team "is working on the ground in Iraq to support the formation of a new government and prepare to confront the corruption crisis in the country, which is extremely important and even more urgent." Savaia added: "This effort is not limited to tracking the embezzled funds that have been smuggled out of Iraq, but also includes identifying the destination of these funds and how they are ultimately used." He noted that through coordination with other institutions, U.S. entities now have a comprehensive understanding of the individuals involved, including senior government officials and their family members who benefited from corrupt Iraqi funds, pointing out that "these funds were used to purchase multiple properties in several countries, as well as to obtain foreign nationalities and passports, sometimes under the same names and sometimes under different identities, in order to evade tracking and accountability in the future." He indicated that "the majority of these cases are concentrated within the region, while some extend beyond it through citizenship-by-investment programs offered by some countries." Washington Threatens to Halt Partnership with Baghdad He added: "Corruption not only harms the Iraqi people and undermines national security, but also empowers terrorist groups and contributes to fueling their activities across several countries," explaining that his country "will work closely with the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Office of Foreign Assets Control to ensure accountability for all parties involved without exception, and no one is above the law, and justice will be served for the Iraqi people." The U.S. State Department stated in a statement that Secretary Rubio informed during a phone call with Mohammed Shia al-Sudani that "any government in Iraq with foreign relations cannot succeed in prioritizing Iraq's interests, keeping Iraq away from regional conflicts, or enhancing the mutually beneficial partnership between the United States and Iraq."
