وقال ترمب، ردًا على سؤال حول مسار الاتصالات مع إيران، بعد تهديده مؤخرًا بشن "ضربة كبيرة" في حال رفضت طهران التوصل إلى اتفاق: «أجريتُ محادثات، وما زلت أخطط لمزيد منها».
سفن حربية ورسالة ردع
وفي إشارة واضحة إلى التصعيد العسكري، كشف ترمب عن تحركات بحرية أمريكية باتجاه المنطقة، قائلاً: «لدينا العديد من السفن الكبيرة والقوية جدًا تبحر الآن نحو إيران، وسيكون من الرائع ألا نضطر لاستخدامها».
ولم يوضح الرئيس الأمريكي طبيعة هذه المحادثات أو الأطراف التي شاركته فيها، كما لم يصدر البيت الأبيض تفاصيل إضافية بشأن هوية المفاوضين المحتملين من الجانب الأمريكي.
