أعلن الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم، اليوم (الخميس)، تمديد عقد مدرب منتخب إنجلترا الأول توماس توخيل حتى 2028. وارتبط اسم توخيل بالعودة إلى تدريب الأندية، وكان مانشستر يونايتد أحد الفرق المرشحة للتعاقد معه، لكن الاتحاد الإنجليزي قطع الطريق أمام أي محاولات لرحيل المدرب الألماني. وفي بيان عبر موقعه الإلكتروني، قال الاتحاد الإنجليزي: «وقع توماس توخيل عقداً جديداً لقيادة المنتخب الإنجليزي الأول للرجال حتى بطولة أمم أوروبا القادمة (يورو 2028)، فبعد بعد أن قاد منتخب «الأسود الثلاثة» الذي لم يهزم في تصفيات قياسية لكأس العالم القادمة في كندا والمكسيك والولايات المتحدة، وافق توخيل على البقاء كمدرب رئيسي لمدة عامين إضافيين». أول تعليق من توخيل وقال توخيل عقب تمديد عقده: «أنا سعيد وفخور للغاية بتمديد عقدي، لا يخفى على أحد أنني استمتعت بكل لحظة قضيتها حتى الآن في العمل مع اللاعبين والمدربين، ولا أطيق الانتظار لقيادة منتخب إنجلترا في كأس العالم، إنها فرصة رائعة، وسنبذل قصارى جهدنا لجعل البلاد فخورة بنا». وأضاف: «لقد حظيت بدعم كبير من الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم، ومن الجماهير أينما ذهبت، ولذلك لم أتردد لحظة عندما طُلب مني الاستمرار في هذه الوظيفة التي لطالما حلمت بها». The English Football Association announced today (Thursday) the extension of the contract of the England national team coach, Thomas Tuchel, until 2028. Tuchel's name has been linked with a return to club management, with Manchester United being one of the teams rumored to be interested in hiring him, but the FA has blocked any attempts for the German coach to leave. In a statement on its website, the FA said: "Thomas Tuchel has signed a new contract to lead the England men's senior team until the next UEFA European Championship (Euro 2028). After leading the 'Three Lions' to an unbeaten record in the qualifiers for the upcoming World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, Tuchel has agreed to stay on as head coach for an additional two years." Tuchel's First Comment Tuchel said following the extension of his contract: "I am very happy and proud to extend my contract. It is no secret that I have enjoyed every moment I have spent so far working with the players and coaches, and I can't wait to lead England in the World Cup. It is a fantastic opportunity, and we will do our utmost to make the country proud of us." He added: "I have received tremendous support from the FA and from fans wherever I have gone, so I did not hesitate for a moment when I was asked to continue in this job that I have always dreamed of."
