دانت مصر واستنكرت بأشد العبارات التهديدات التي تستهدف أمن المملكة العربية السعودية، وما تنطوي عليه من تصعيد غير مسؤول من شأنه تقويض أمن واستقرار المنطقة، وتهديد سلامة الملاحة البحرية والتجارة الدولية والممرات المائية الحيوية.
وأكد بيان رسمي صدر عن الخارجية المصرية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، أن تلك التهديدات تمثل انتهاكاً صارخاً للقانون الدولي، واتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لقانون البحار وقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة.
وشددت مصر على تضامنها الكامل مع المملكة العربية السعودية وكافة دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، ودعمها لكافة الإجراءات التي تتخذها للحفاظ على أمنها واستقرارها وسيادتها وسلامة أراضيها.
وأكدت مصر أهمية تغليب الحلول السياسية والدبلوماسية، واحترام قواعد القانون الدولي، بما يسهم في خفض التصعيد والحفاظ على أمن واستقرار المنطقة.
ويأتي البيان المصري في أعقاب إعلان جماعة الحوثيين، (الإثنين)، فرض ما وصفته بـ«حظر الملاحة البحرية» على السفن المرتبطة بالسعودية عبر البحر الأحمر وباب المندب، متهمة المملكة بفرض حصار على اليمن.
ودانت دول عربية أخرى التصريحات والتهديدات الحوثية، مؤكدة ضرورة احترام حرية الملاحة وتنفيذ قرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة باليمن وأمن البحر الأحمر.
Egypt condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the threats targeting the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which involve irresponsible escalation that could undermine the security and stability of the region, and threaten the safety of maritime navigation, international trade, and vital waterways.
A statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry today (Tuesday) confirmed that these threats represent a blatant violation of international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and relevant Security Council resolutions.
Egypt emphasized its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and its support for all measures taken to maintain its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Egypt affirmed the importance of prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions, and respecting the rules of international law, which contributes to de-escalation and maintaining the security and stability of the region.
The Egyptian statement comes in the wake of the announcement by the Houthi group on Monday, imposing what it described as a "maritime navigation ban" on ships associated with Saudi Arabia through the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb, accusing the Kingdom of imposing a blockade on Yemen.
Other Arab countries condemned the Houthi statements and threats, emphasizing the necessity of respecting freedom of navigation and implementing relevant Security Council resolutions regarding Yemen and the security of the Red Sea.
