تأكيداً للدور الذي تقوم به المملكة في منظمة الطيران المدني الدولي (الإيكاو)، وثقلها الإستراتيجي بين دول العالم في مجال الطيران المدني وصناعة النقل الجوي، انتخب مجلس منظمة الطيران المدني الدولي (الإيكاو)، مندوب المملكة العربية السعودية الدائم في مجلس المنظمة المهندس محمد سامي حبيب رئيساً للجنة التعاون الفني ودعم التنفيذ (TCC) لمدة عام، وذلك خلال الاجتماع الأول لمجلس المنظمة في دورته الـ 236 في مونتريال بكندا. ويعكس هذا الاختيار ثقة المجلس بدور المملكة في دعم بناء قدرات الدول الأعضاء لرفع مستوى الامتثال في تنفيذ القواعد القياسية الدولية للطيران المدني بما يضمن سلامة وأمن واستدامة القطاع، كما يعكس الثقة العالمية بالكفاءات والكوادر السعودية. يذكر، أن مجلس الإيكاو يُعد الجهاز التنفيذي الدائم للمنظمة، ويضم 36 دولة منتخبة لثلاث سنوات، ويقوم بوضع السياسات العامة والميزانية ويتخذ القرارات بين دورات الجمعية العمومية. In confirmation of the role that the Kingdom plays in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and its strategic weight among countries in the field of civil aviation and air transport industry, the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has elected the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Council, Engineer Mohammed Sami Habib, as the Chairman of the Technical Cooperation and Implementation Support Committee (TCC) for one year, during the first meeting of the Council in its 236th session in Montreal, Canada. This selection reflects the Council's confidence in the Kingdom's role in supporting the capacity building of member states to enhance compliance with the implementation of international civil aviation standards, ensuring the safety, security, and sustainability of the sector. It also reflects global confidence in the competencies and talents of Saudi professionals. It is worth mentioning that the ICAO Council is the permanent executive body of the organization, consisting of 36 elected states for three years, and is responsible for setting general policies and budgets and making decisions between sessions of the General Assembly.
