أعلن الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون أمس (الثلاثاء)، إطلاق سراح سيسيك كوهلر (41 عاماً) وشريكها جاك باريس (72 عاماً)، آخر الفرنسيين المحتجزين في إيران، بعد أكثر من ثلاث سنوات من الاعتقال في سجن إيفين الشهير، في خطوة دبلوماسية تعزز الحوار بين باريس وطهران وسط التوترات الإقليمية. وأكد وزير الخارجية الفرنسي جان نويل بارو أن الزوجين «سالمان وآمنان» في السفارة الفرنسية بطهران، في انتظار إنهاء إجراءات الإفراج النهائي وعودتهما إلى الوطن. ويأتي الإفراج في إطار صفقة تبادل سجناء أُعلن عنها قبل أكثر من شهر من قبل وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي، الذي قال إن «الصفقة لتبادل المعتقلين الفرنسيين مقابل إيرانية محتجزة في فرنسا على وشك الإكمال». وفي الشهر الماضي، أُفرجَ مشروطاً عن مهدية أصفندياري، الإيرانية المحتجزة في فرنسا منذ فبراير 2024 بتهمة الترويج للإرهاب عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. وأكدت الخارجية الفرنسية أن هذه الصفقة «تُنهي الاعتقالات الفرنسية في إيران»، إذ كان الزوجان آخر الفرنسيين السبعة المحتجزين هناك منذ 2019، وسط اتهامات فرنسية لإيران بـ«الاختطاف الرسمي» و«السجن تحت ظروف تعذيبية»، وهو ما نفته طهران. واعتُقل كوهلر وباريس في مايو 2022 أثناء رحلة سياحية في إيران، واتُهِما بالتجسس لصالح فرنسا وإسرائيل، وحكم عليهما الشهر الماضي بالسجن لسنوات طويلة وفقاً لوسائل إعلام إيرانية. ووصف ماكرون الإفراج بأنه «خطوة أولى مرحب بها»، مضيفاً في تغريدة على منصة «X»: «أرحب بهذه الخطوة الأولى، الحوار مستمر للسماح بعودتهما إلى فرنسا في أسرع وقت ممكن». وكانت كولر وباري من بين عشرات الأجانب ومزدوجي الجنسية الذين احتجزتهم إيران في السنوات القليلة الماضية، بتهم تتعلق غالباً بالتجسس. وذكرت فرنسا أن التهم الموجهة إليهما لا أساس لها. وأنهى إطلاق سراحهما مفاوضات على مدى سنوات بين البلدين بشأن المواطنين الفرنسيين المحتجزين في إيران، الذين وصل عددهم إلى سبعة في 2022. French President Emmanuel Macron announced yesterday (Tuesday) the release of Cécile Kohler (41 years old) and her partner Jacques Paris (72 years old), the last French citizens held in Iran, after more than three years of detention in the infamous Evin prison, in a diplomatic move that strengthens dialogue between Paris and Tehran amid regional tensions. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot confirmed that the couple is "safe and sound" at the French embassy in Tehran, awaiting the completion of final release procedures and their return home. The release comes as part of a prisoner exchange deal announced more than a month ago by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who stated that "the deal to exchange the French detainees for an Iranian held in France is about to be completed." Last month, Mahdiyeh Asfandyari, the Iranian detained in France since February 2024 on charges of promoting terrorism via social media, was conditionally released. The French Foreign Ministry confirmed that this deal "ends the French detentions in Iran," as the couple were the last of the seven French citizens held there since 2019, amid French accusations against Iran of "official kidnapping" and "imprisonment under torturous conditions," which Tehran denied. Kohler and Paris were arrested in May 2022 while on a tourist trip in Iran and were accused of espionage on behalf of France and Israel, and were sentenced last month to long prison terms according to Iranian media. Macron described the release as "a welcome first step," adding in a tweet on the platform "X": "I welcome this first step; dialogue continues to allow their return to France as soon as possible." Kohler and Paris were among dozens of foreigners and dual nationals detained by Iran in recent years, often on charges related to espionage. France stated that the charges against them are baseless. Their release concluded years of negotiations between the two countries regarding French citizens detained in Iran, which numbered seven in 2022.
