أعادت تصريحات وزير السياحة أحمد الخطيب، أمس الأول، حول العمل على توفير خيارات سياحية للفئات المتوسطة وفوق المتوسطة، إلى الأذهان النصيحة الشهيرة التي قدمها الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة السعودية للسياحة فهد حميد الدين قبل عامين، حين قال: «الحل الأفضل للطبقة المتوسطة هو الحجز من بدري»، سواء للراغبين في قضاء إجازاتهم الصيفية في وجهات مثل عسير وغيرها، أو للتمتع بمواسم الشتاء مثل موسم الرياض. وأوضح حميد الدين، حينها، أن أسعار الإقامة والطيران ترتفع في مواسم الذروة بنسبة تصل إلى 80٪ مقارنة بفترات الركود السياحي، ما يجعل الحجز المبكر هو الخيار الأذكى لتفادي الارتفاعات الموسمية. وجاءت تصريحات الوزير الخطيب الأخيرة، على هامش اجتماع الجمعية العامة لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للسياحة الذي تستضيفه الرياض لأول مرة، وأكد أن المملكة تعمل على بناء وجهات سياحية مخصصة للفئات المتوسطة وفوق المتوسطة، مضيفاً: «بدأنا ببناء وجهات سياحية فاخرة للمسافرين الأثرياء، وبدأنا بالفعل في بناء وجهات للطبقة الوسطى، والطبقة الوسطى العليا، ولن نتجاهل هذه الشريحة». وكشف الخطيب، افتتاح 10 منتجعات جديدة في جزيرة شيبارة بالبحر الأحمر خلال الأشهر القادمة، مشيراً إلى أنها ستوفر أسعاراً أقل بكثير من الخيارات الحالية، ومتوقعاً أن تكون متاحة في عامي 2026 أو 2027، كحد أقصى. The recent statements by Minister Al-Khateeb came on the sidelines of the General Assembly meeting of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, which is being hosted in Riyadh for the first time. He confirmed that the Kingdom is working on building tourist destinations specifically for the middle and upper-middle classes, adding: “We started by building luxury tourist destinations for wealthy travelers, and we have indeed begun constructing destinations for the middle class and upper-middle class, and we will not ignore this segment.” Al-Khateeb revealed the opening of 10 new resorts on Shibara Island in the Red Sea in the coming months, noting that they will offer prices much lower than current options, and expecting them to be available by 2026 or 2027 at the latest.
