شهدت مدينة هايدلبرغ الألمانية حالة من الهلع الأمني بعدما أبلغت سيدة عن اقتحام شقة، لكن المفاجأة كانت أن «المجرم» ليس سوى طفل يبلغ 12 عامًا اضطر لتسلق نافذة منزله. وبحسب بيان صادر عن شرطة هايدلبرغ، الأحد، فقد لاحظت السيدة الطفل وهو يحاول الدخول من خلال نافذة مفتوحة جزئيا بالطابق الأرضي. وبدا لها أن شخصا غريبا يقتحم المنزل، ما دفعها إلى الاتصال بالشرطة بشكل فوري والإبلاغ عن محاولة سرقة. ووصلت دورية الشرطة إلى الموقع خلال دقائق، لتكتشف أن الشقة خالية وأن الباب الأمامي مغلق من الداخل، بينما كان الطفل قد نجح بالفعل في الدخول عبر النافذة. وبعد التحقق من هويته والتواصل مع والدة الطفل، تبيّن أن ما حدث لم يكن جريمة، بل محاولة يائسة من الصغير للعودة إلى منزله. وأوضحت الشرطة أن الطفل كان قد نسي مفتاح المنزل عند خروجه، بينما كانت والدته خارج الشقة في ذلك الوقت، ما اضطره إلى البحث عن طريقة للدخول دون الانتظار في الخارج. وزارة الداخلية المحلية أشادت بتصرف السيدة التي أبلغت عن الحادثة، معتبرة أن «اليقظة المجتمعية عنصر مهم في الحفاظ على الأمن»، لكنها في الوقت نفسه شددت على ضرورة التأكد قدر الإمكان من طبيعة الموقف قبل افتراض الأسوأ. وأكدت الشرطة أنها لن تتخذ أي إجراءات قانونية، وأن الطفل لم يتعرض لأي عقوبة، مكتفية بنصيحة بسيطة موجّهة إليه: «احتفظ بمفتاحك دائما في حقيبتك المدرسية». She thought that a stranger was breaking into the house, which prompted her to immediately call the police and report an attempted burglary. The police patrol arrived at the scene within minutes, only to discover that the apartment was empty and the front door was locked from the inside, while the boy had already managed to enter through the window. After verifying his identity and contacting the boy's mother, it became clear that what had happened was not a crime, but rather a desperate attempt by the child to return home. The police explained that the boy had forgotten his house key when he left, while his mother was outside the apartment at that time, which forced him to look for a way to get in without waiting outside. The local Ministry of the Interior praised the woman's actions in reporting the incident, considering that "community vigilance is an important element in maintaining security," but at the same time emphasized the need to verify the nature of the situation as much as possible before assuming the worst. The police confirmed that no legal action would be taken, and that the child would not face any punishment, merely offering him a simple piece of advice: "Always keep your key in your school bag."
