عزّزت الدنمارك، وجودها العسكري في إقليم غرينلاند الواقع في القطب الشمالي، عبر نشر قوات إضافية في المنطقة ذات الأهمية الإستراتيجية، وذلك في ظل تصاعد التوترات مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب.
وذكرت هيئة الإذاعة الدنماركية المحلية TV 2 أن القوات المسلحة الدنماركية أكدت وصول دفعة جديدة من الجنود، ووصفتها بأنها «مساهمة كبيرة»، إلى المطار الدولي الرئيسي في غرينلاند مساء الإثنين.
وقال قائد القيادة القطبية الدنماركية اللواء سورين أندرسن، إن نحو 100 جندي دنماركي وصلوا بالفعل إلى العاصمة نوك، على أن يتم لاحقاً نشر قوات إضافية في منطقة كانغيرلوسواك غرب غرينلاند.
تصريحات ترمب
ويأتي هذا التحرك العسكري في أعقاب تصريحات مثيرة للجدل أدلى بها الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب حول الأهمية الإستراتيجية والعسكرية لغرينلاند، معتبراً أن الدنمارك فشلت في تأمين الجزيرة ضد ما وصفه بالتهديدات الروسية والصينية.
وكان ترمب قد كتب في منشور على منصة «تروث سوشيال» في 18 يناير أن حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو) طالب الدنمارك، على مدى 20 عاماً، بالتصدي للنفوذ الروسي في غرينلاند، مضيفاً أن كوبنهاغن «لم تنجح في القيام بذلك»، ومؤكداً أن «الوقت قد حان للتدخل».
رسائل ترمب ورئيس الوزراء النرويجي
وفي سياق متصل، نُشرت يوم الإثنين تفاصيل تبادل رسائل نصية بين ترمب ورئيس الوزراء النرويجي يوناس غار ستوره، تناولت غرينلاند وجائزة نوبل للسلام، حيث شكك ترمب في «حق ملكية» الدنمارك للإقليم، معتبراً أن السيطرة الكاملة على غرينلاند ضرورية لضمان أمن العالم.
وقال ترمب في الرسائل: «الدنمارك لا تستطيع حماية هذه الأرض من روسيا أو الصين، فلماذا تمتلك حقاً فيها من الأساس؟»، مضيفاً أن «العالم لن يكون آمناً ما لم نملك سيطرة كاملة وشاملة على غرينلاند».
مخاوف أمنية في القطب الشمالي
في المقابل، أوضح اللواء أندرسن، بحسب وكالة «رويترز»، أن نشر القوات الدنماركية يأتي في إطار مخاوف أمنية أوسع في منطقة القطب الشمالي، وليس رداً مباشراً على تصريحات ترمب.
من جانبه، أكد وزير الدفاع الدنماركي ترولس لوند بولسن، أن بلاده بدأت بالفعل في تعزيز وجودها العسكري في غرينلاند ومحيطها بالتعاون مع حلفائها في الناتو، في إطار جهود تقوية الدفاعات في المنطقة القطبية، مشيراً إلى أن بعض القوات قد تبقى هناك لمدة عام أو أكثر، مع خطط لتناوب قوات إضافية خلال السنوات المقبلة.
رد واشنطن
وفي واشنطن، قالت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض كارولين ليفيت إن الوجود العسكري الأوروبي في غرينلاند «لن يؤثر على اهتمام الرئيس ترمب بضم الجزيرة»، مؤكدة أن هذه التحركات لا تغيّر من أهدافه.
ويأتي نشر القوات الدنماركية الإضافية أيضاً بعد إعلان ترمب فرض ضريبة استيراد بنسبة 10% اعتباراً من فبراير القادم على السلع القادمة من الدول الداعمة للدنمارك وغرينلاند، بما في ذلك النرويج.

The Danish Broadcasting Corporation, TV 2, reported that the Danish armed forces confirmed the arrival of a new batch of soldiers, describing it as a "significant contribution," to the main international airport in Greenland on Monday evening.
Major General Søren Andersen, the commander of the Danish Arctic Command, stated that about 100 Danish soldiers have already arrived in the capital, Nuuk, with plans to later deploy additional forces in the Kangerlussuaq area in western Greenland.
Trump's Statements
This military move comes in the wake of controversial statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the strategic and military importance of Greenland, considering that Denmark has failed to secure the island against what he described as Russian and Chinese threats.
Trump had written in a post on the "Truth Social" platform on January 18 that NATO had been urging Denmark for 20 years to counter Russian influence in Greenland, adding that Copenhagen "has not succeeded in doing so," and asserting that "the time has come for intervention."
Trump's Messages and the Norwegian Prime Minister
In a related context, details of a text message exchange between Trump and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre were published on Monday, discussing Greenland and the Nobel Peace Prize, where Trump questioned Denmark's "ownership rights" over the territory, considering that full control over Greenland is necessary to ensure global security.
Trump stated in the messages: "Denmark cannot protect this land from Russia or China, so why does it even have a right to it?" adding that "the world will not be safe unless we have complete and total control over Greenland."
Security Concerns in the Arctic
In contrast, Major General Andersen clarified, according to Reuters, that the deployment of Danish forces is part of broader security concerns in the Arctic region, and not a direct response to Trump's statements.
For his part, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen confirmed that his country has already begun to enhance its military presence in Greenland and its surroundings in cooperation with its NATO allies, as part of efforts to strengthen defenses in the Arctic region, noting that some troops may remain there for a year or more, with plans to rotate additional forces in the coming years.
Washington's Response
In Washington, White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt stated that the European military presence in Greenland "will not affect President Trump's interest in acquiring the island," emphasizing that these movements do not change his objectives.
The deployment of additional Danish troops also follows Trump's announcement of a 10% import tax starting in February on goods coming from countries supporting Denmark and Greenland, including Norway.
