انطلقت منافسات الجولة الأولى من الموسم الثالث لبطولة العالم للقوارب الكهربائية السريعة E1، والتي تستضيفها المملكة للمرة الثالثة، وذلك في منطقة أبحر الشمالية بمدينة جدة، بتنظيم من الاتحاد السعودي للرياضات البحرية والغوص، وبالتعاون مع الاتحاد الدولي للزوارق السريعة.

وشهد اليوم الأول إقامة التصفيات التأهيلية بمشاركة 10 فرق عالمية، هدفت إلى تحديد الأزمنة والمراكز، وتقسيم الفرق ضمن مجموعات سباقات، حيث تمكّن فريق برادي -بطل النسختين السابقتين- من فرض سيطرته على الجولة الافتتاحية، عبر قائده البريطاني سام كولمان وقائدته الفنلندية إيما كيميلاينن، محققًا المركز الأول، ليحجز صدارة السباق الرئيس يليه في المركز الثاني فريق أوكي ريسينغ تيم، بعد أداء لافت من قائده الإسباني داني كلوس وزميلته الجامايكية سارا ميسير، فيما جاء فريق رافا في المركز الثالث بتمثيل الفرنسي توم شياب والإسبانية كريس لازاراغا، مؤكدًا حضوره ضمن فرق المقدمة.

وحلّ فريق ويستبروك ريسينغ في المركز الرابع بعد أداء مميز قدّمه الإسباني لوكاس أوردونيز وزميلته الأمريكية سارا برايس، متقدمين على الفريق المشارك للمرة الأولى هذا الموسم سييرا ريسينغ كلوب، بقيادة السويدي إريك ستارك والبريطانية كيتي مانينغز الذي جاء خامسًا، يليه فريق دروغبا جلوبال أفريكا ممثلًا بالنيوزيلندي ميكا ويلكينسون واللاتفية إيفا ميلير-هاجن في المركز السادس، ثم فريق العُلا بقيادة الكندي رستي وايات وزميلته الإسبانية نيريا مارتي في المركز السابع، واستقر فريق موناكو ممثلًا بالفرنسي ماكسيم نوشر والبريطانية أوبان دانكن في المركز الثامن، وحلّ فريق ميامي برعاية ماغنوس وممثليه السويدي تيمي هانسن والأوروغوانية باتريشيا بيتا-جاجو تاسعًا، وجاء فريق بلو رايزينغ بقيادة الأمريكي جون بيترس في المركز العاشر.

وتتواصل منافسات البطولة اليوم بإقامة سباقات مرحلة المجموعات، تليها سباقات تحديد المتأهلين والمراكز، وصولًا إلى المرحلة النهائية التي سيتم من خلالها حسم المراكز الثلاثة الأولى، وتتويج الفائز بلقب جائزة جدة الكبرى للجولة الأولى من بطولة العالم للقوارب الكهربائية السريعة E1.

The first round of the third season of the E1 World Championship for electric speedboats has kicked off, hosted by the Kingdom for the third time, in the northern Abhur area of Jeddah, organized by the Saudi Arabian Marine Sports and Diving Federation, in collaboration with the International Union of Powerboating.

On the first day, the qualifying heats took place with the participation of 10 global teams, aimed at determining times and positions, and dividing the teams into racing groups. The Brady team - the champion of the previous two editions - managed to dominate the opening round, led by British captain Sam Coleman and Finnish captain Emma Kimiläinen, achieving first place and securing the lead in the main race, followed by the Oki Racing Team in second place, after a remarkable performance from their Spanish captain Dani Clos and Jamaican teammate Sara Misser. The Rafa team came in third, represented by Frenchman Tom Chiab and Spanish Krys Lazaraga, confirming their presence among the top teams.

The Westbrook Racing team finished fourth after a distinguished performance by Spanish driver Lucas Ordonez and American teammate Sara Price, ahead of the Sierra Racing Club team, participating for the first time this season, led by Swedish Eric Stark and British Katie Mannings, who came in fifth. They were followed by the Drogba Global Africa team, represented by New Zealander Mika Wilkinson and Latvian Eva Miller-Hagen in sixth place, then the Al-Ula team led by Canadian Rusty Wyatt and Spanish teammate Neria Marti in seventh place. The Monaco team, represented by Frenchman Maxime Nocher and British Oban Duncan, settled in eighth place, while the Miami team, sponsored by Magnus and represented by Swedish Timmy Hansen and Uruguayan Patricia Beta-Jago, finished ninth. The Blue Racing team, led by American John Peters, came in tenth.

The championship continues today with the group stage races, followed by the qualifying and ranking races, leading up to the final stage where the top three positions will be determined, culminating in the crowning of the winner of the Jeddah Grand Prix for the first round of the E1 World Championship for electric speedboats.
