التقى وزير الثقافة الأمير بدر بن عبدالله بن فرحان، في مدينة سمرقند، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، رئيسة صندوق تنمية الثقافة والفنون في جمهورية أوزبكستان غاياني أوميروفا، وذلك على هامش المؤتمر العام لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة (اليونسكو) في دورته الـ43 المنعقدة في جمهورية أوزبكستان.

وهنّأ وزير الثقافة الجانبَ الأوزبكي على استضافة الدورة الـ43 للمؤتمر العام لمنظمة اليونسكو، وإقامة «بينالي بُخارَى» للفنون، واصفا إياه بالحدث الفريد الذي يُجسّد تلاقي التاريخ العريق مع الإبداع المعاصر، ويؤكد دور الفن في تعزيز الحوار بين الثقافات، مشيدا بمشاركة جمهورية أوزبكستان في إكسبو 2025 أوساكا التي عكست جهودها في تعزيز التبادل الثقافي والحوار العالمي.

وناقش اللقاءُ أهمية توسيع آفاق التعاون الثقافي بين البلدين الصديقين، مشيرا إلى التعاون الثقافي المميز، ومن ذلك اختيار أوزبكستان ضيف شرف لمعرض الرياض الدولي للكتاب 2025م، واستضافة وفد أوزبكي بقيادة وزير الثقافة نزاربيكوف أوزودبك، إلى جانب مشاركة جمهورية أوزبكستان في بينالي الفنون الإسلامية في نسختيه 2023 و2025 عبر إعارة قطع أثرية قيّمة من الفن الإسلامي، إضافة إلى مشاركة بينالي الدرعية بعرض التصميم الفائز بالدورة الافتتاحية من جائزة المصلى في بينالي بُخارَى الذي تُنظِّمُه أوزبكستان.

وتناول اللقاء أهمية تعزيز التعاون في مجال حماية وصون التراث الثقافي على الصعيد الدولي، ومن أبرز ذلك الشراكة مع مؤسسة التحالف الدولي لحماية التراث (ألِف) دعما للجهود العالمية الهادفة إلى صون التراث الإنساني والحفاظ عليه للأجيال القادمة.

حضر اللقاء مساعد وزير الثقافة راكان بن إبراهيم الطوق، ووكيل وزارة الثقافة للعلاقات الثقافية الدولية المهندس فهد بن عبدالرحمن الكنعان، ومندوب المملكة الدائم لدى منظمة اليونسكو الدكتور عبدالإله بن علي الطخيس، وسفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى جمهورية أوزبكستان يوسف بن صالح القهرة.

The Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, met today (Tuesday) in Samarkand with the Chairwoman of the Cultural and Arts Development Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Gayani Umierova, on the sidelines of the 43rd session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Minister congratulated the Uzbek side on hosting the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference and the establishment of the "Bukhara Biennale" for the arts, describing it as a unique event that embodies the convergence of rich history with contemporary creativity, and emphasizes the role of art in enhancing dialogue between cultures. He praised Uzbekistan's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, which reflected its efforts in promoting cultural exchange and global dialogue.

The meeting discussed the importance of expanding cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries, highlighting the distinguished cultural collaboration, including Uzbekistan being chosen as the guest of honor for the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, and hosting a Uzbek delegation led by Minister of Culture Nazarbikov Ozodbek, in addition to Uzbekistan's participation in the Islamic Arts Biennale in both its 2023 and 2025 editions through the loan of valuable artifacts from Islamic art, as well as the participation of the Diriyah Biennale by showcasing the winning design from the inaugural session of the Musalla Award at the Bukhara Biennale organized by Uzbekistan.

The meeting addressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in the field of protecting and preserving cultural heritage at the international level, notably through the partnership with the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage (ALIPH) in support of global efforts aimed at safeguarding human heritage and preserving it for future generations.

Attending the meeting were the Assistant Minister of Culture, Rakan bin Ibrahim Al-Tawuq, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for International Cultural Relations, Engineer Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Kan'an, the Kingdom's Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, Dr. Abdulilah bin Ali Al-Tukhis, and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Yusuf bin Saleh Al-Qahra.
