في كارثة صناعية هزت مقاطعة تشونغنام الجنوبية، اندلع حريق هائل أمس (السبت) في مركز لوجستي رئيسي تابع لأكبر شركات الموضة والأزياء في كوريا الجنوبية، في مدينة تشونان، جنوب سيئول بحوالى 90 كيلومتراً، ما أدى إلى تدمير كامل للمبنى الذي يمتد على مساحة 193 ألف متر مربع.
ووفقاً لتقارير من وكالة الأنباء الكورية «يونهاب» نجح رجال الإطفاء في السيطرة على اللهب بعد 9 ساعات ونصف من الاشتباك المباشر مع النيران، بمشاركة 63 سيارة إطفاء و129 رجل إنقاذ من عدة مدن مجاورة، لكن الخسائر المادية تقدر بمليارات الدولارات، مع حرق حوالى 11 مليون قطعة من الملابس والأحذية.
بدأ الحريق حوالى الساعة 6:10 صباحاً في المبنى ذي الأربعة طوابق الذي اكتمل بناؤه عام 2014، ويُعد مركز توزيع رئيسياً لعلامات الموضة التابعة لـ«إي لاند»، أكبر شركات الأزياء في كوريا الجنوبية.
وأشارت مصادر أمنية إلى أن الكميات الهائلة من المواد القابلة للاحتراق، مثل الملابس والأحذية، ساهمت في سرعة انتشار اللهب، ما أدى إلى انهيار الطابقين الثالث والرابع وإصدار دخان أسود كثيف غطى السماء فوق المدينة.
وانتشرت مقاطع فيديو على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، تظهر ألسنة اللهب المتّقدة وجهود الإطفاء الشاقة، مع هتافات المتطوعين وصوت صفارات الإنذار.
وأكد مسؤولون في محطة الإطفاء في تشونان الجنوبية أن الحريق تمت السيطرة عليه أولياً بحلول الساعة 3:35 مساءً، ولم تُسجل أي إصابات أو قتلى، بفضل إجلاء سريع للعمال قبل اندلاع اللهب، ومع ذلك، أعلنت الشركة تعليق عمليات التوزيع مؤقتاً، ما قد يؤثر على سلاسل التوريد لعدة علامات تجارية شهيرة.
يأتي هذا الحريق في سياق سلسلة من الكوارث النارية التي شهدتها كوريا الجنوبية في السنوات الأخيرة، حيث أدى الاعتماد المتزايد على المستودعات اللوجستية الكبرى في ظل نمو التجارة الإلكترونية إلى زيادة المخاطر.
و في أبريل 2020، أودى حريق في مستودع بناء غير مكتمل في مدينة إيتشيون بحياة 38 شخصاً وإصابة 10 آخرين، نتيجة انفجار مواد بناء، ما دفع الحكومة إلى تشديد قوانين السلامة الصناعية، وفي مارس الماضي أسفرت حرائق الغابات الواسعة في مقاطعة غيونغ سانغ الشمالية عن مقتل 24 شخصاً وتدمير آلاف الهكتارات، مع تحذيرات من «أسوأ كارثة في التاريخ» بسبب الرياح القوية والجفاف.

Security sources indicated that the vast quantities of flammable materials, such as clothing and shoes, contributed to the rapid spread of the flames, leading to the collapse of the third and fourth floors and the release of thick black smoke that covered the sky over the city.
Videos circulated on social media showed the raging flames and the arduous firefighting efforts, accompanied by the cheers of volunteers and the sound of sirens.
Officials at the Cheonan fire station confirmed that the fire was initially brought under control by 3:35 PM, and no injuries or fatalities were reported, thanks to the swift evacuation of workers before the flames broke out. Nevertheless, the company announced a temporary suspension of distribution operations, which could affect the supply chains of several well-known brands.
This fire comes in the context of a series of fire disasters that South Korea has witnessed in recent years, as the increasing reliance on large logistics warehouses amid the growth of e-commerce has heightened risks.
In April 2020, a fire at an incomplete construction warehouse in Icheon resulted in the deaths of 38 people and injuries to 10 others due to an explosion of construction materials, prompting the government to tighten industrial safety laws. Last March, widespread wildfires in North Gyeongsang Province resulted in 24 deaths and the destruction of thousands of hectares, with warnings of "the worst disaster in history" due to strong winds and drought.
