شهد اللقاء سيطرة متبادلة بين الفريقين، وتمكن الحزم من التقدم بالنتيجة قبل نهاية الشوط الأول عندما تحصل على ركلة جزاء سددها بنجاح عمر السومة الهداف التاريخي لدوري المحترفين السعودي (د:42)، وفي الوقت بدل الضائع أنبرى جورجي فيرنانديز لاعب الفتح لتمريرة زميله زيدو يوسف ليضع الكرة في المرمى هدف تعادل للفتح في الوقت القاتل (د:90+1).

وبهذه النتيجة يحقق الفتح تعادله الخامس ويصل للنقطة الـ23 في المركز العاشر، فيما حقق الحزم تعادله السادس ووصل للنقطة الـ21 في المركز الـ11.
