سيطر الجيش السوري اليوم (الإثنين) على مدينة الشدادي بجنوب محافظة الحسكة في شمال شرق البلاد وبدأ عملياته لتأمين المنطقة، واعتقال عناصر تنظيم «داعش» الإرهابي.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء السورية (سانا) عن هيئة العمليات في الجيش قولها إن وحدات الجيش ستقوم بتأمين سجن الشدادي ومحيطه، إضافة لتمشيط مدينة الشدادي وما حولها بهدف إلقاء القبض على السجناء الذين ينتمون لتنظيم «داعش» وأطلقت «قسد» سراحهم، موضحاً أنه سيتم تسليم سجن الشدادي والمرافق الأمنية بالمدينة لوزارة الداخلية فوراً، بعد الانتهاء من عمليات التأمين والتمشيط.
وذكرت الهيئة أن قيادة الجيش تواصلت مع الوسطاء وقادة «قسد»، بهدف تسليم السجن للأمن الداخلي وتأمينه وتأمين محيطه، ولكن قيادة «قسد» رفضت ذلك، وما زالت ترفض حتى هذه اللحظة.
بدورها، أعلنت وزارة الداخلية، استعدادها للتنسيق المباشر مع الجانب الأمريكي في إطار الجهود المشتركة لمنع عودة «الإرهاب»، وضمان أمن المنطقة واستقرارها، محملاً قوات سوريا الديمقراطية (قسد) المسؤولية الكاملة عن أي حالات هروب أو إطلاق سراح لعناصر تنظيم «داعش» من السجون الواقعة تحت سيطرتها.
واعتبرت الوزارة ما جرى في سجن الشدادي، خرقاً أمنياً خطيراً يُهدد الأمن السوري والإقليمي والدولي، موضحة أنها أتمت تجهيز قوة خاصة مشتركة من «إدارة المهام الخاصة» و«إدارة السجون»، مهمتها تسلُّم وتأمين محيط السجن وإدارته الداخلية، وضمان تطبيق أعلى معايير الحراسة والاحتجاز، ومنع أي محاولات تسلل أو تهريب.
ورفضت الوزارة ما وصفتها محاولات «قسد» باستخدام ملف معتقلي «داعش» كورقة ابتزاز سياسي وأمني ضد الدولة السورية.
وكانت «قسد» قد أعلنت في وقت سابق أن سجن الشدادي، الذي يضم آلاف السجناء من عناصر تنظيم «داعش»، خرج عن سيطرتها بعد هجمات متكررة نفذتها فصائل مسلحة تابعة للحكومة المركزية في دمشق.
The Syrian army today (Monday) took control of the city of Al-Shaddadi in the southern part of Al-Hasakah province in northeastern Syria and began operations to secure the area and arrest members of the terrorist organization "ISIS".
The Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that the army's operations command stated that army units will secure Al-Shaddadi prison and its surroundings, in addition to combing the city of Al-Shaddadi and its vicinity with the aim of capturing prisoners belonging to the "ISIS" organization who were released by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). It clarified that the Al-Shaddadi prison and the security facilities in the city will be handed over to the Ministry of Interior immediately after completing the security and combing operations.
The command indicated that the army leadership contacted mediators and SDF leaders with the aim of handing over the prison to internal security and securing it and its surroundings, but the SDF leadership rejected this, and continues to refuse to this moment.
For its part, the Ministry of Interior announced its readiness to coordinate directly with the American side within the framework of joint efforts to prevent the return of "terrorism" and ensure the security and stability of the region, holding the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fully responsible for any cases of escape or release of "ISIS" members from the prisons under their control.
The ministry considered what happened at Al-Shaddadi prison a serious security breach that threatens Syrian, regional, and international security, explaining that it has prepared a special joint force from the "Special Tasks Administration" and the "Prisons Administration," tasked with taking over and securing the prison's surroundings and its internal management, ensuring the highest standards of guarding and detention, and preventing any attempts at infiltration or smuggling.
The ministry rejected what it described as attempts by the SDF to use the file of "ISIS" detainees as a political and security bargaining chip against the Syrian state.
Earlier, the SDF announced that Al-Shaddadi prison, which houses thousands of prisoners from the "ISIS" organization, was out of its control after repeated attacks carried out by armed factions affiliated with the central government in Damascus.
